Ovidias joins ambitious CO2 reduction plan
Ovidias has engaged sustainability consultancy Encon NV (Bilzen) to develop its CO2 reduction strategy. This is the first step in a long-term sustainability process to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and thus combat climate change.
Ovidias aims to reduce its carbon footprint by 30% to 50% by 2030.
This is fully in line with the Paris Climate Agreement, in which Europe takes a leading role in limiting global warming to a maximum of 1.5°C to 2°C by 2030.
Ovidias has made several investments in the past year to make its machinery more sustainable. For example, a new refrigeration plant based on completely natural refrigerants was recently put into operation.
The conscious, sustainable choices we make as a company also mean that we will be expanding our team by at least five employees.
The path towards sustainable entrepreneurship in our family business is an important step for the future of our company, for the next generation.
